MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., June 25, 2008 – Today Kohl's Department Stores honored nearly 2,000 children countrywide for the one thousands of good works they performed in their communities through volunteerism. Through the 8th yearly Kohl's Kids Who Care® Scholarship Program, 107 young person from Prairie State volition have $50 gift card game and acknowledgment certifications from Kohl's. Today's victors could travel on to have a $1,000 regional scholarship that Kohl's will awarding in July.

Local victors include Capital Of Texas Brasel, 12, Port Byron; Hunter Collachia, 8, Fulton; Deems Taylor Colson, 8, Sherrard; Elisse Kavensky, 17, Rock Island; and Samuel Wagner, 18, Davenport.

"Young people are transforming our communities through volunteerism and service activities that benefit others," said Julie Gardner, executive director frailty president and main selling military officer at Kohl's. "Every twelvemonth we are inspired by the good works these children have got accomplished and are proud to acknowledge them through the Kohl's Kids Who Care Scholarship Program."

The Kids Who Care Scholarship Program is portion of Kohl's Cares for Kids, a programme focused on improving the lives of children.
