The Adverse Effects Of Technology

(NOTE) The followers is an extract of my approaching book entitled, "MORPHING INTO THE real number world - THE handbook FOR entrance THE work FORCE."

Today, our society is driven by engineering and some would impeach me of being an anti-technologist. Having been actively involved with the Information Technology industry over the last 30 years, I can guarantee you this is simply not true. I have got witnessed many different technological sweetenings over the years, but what intriques me most is how it impacts us socially. I firmly believe engineering is purchased more than as a manner statement as opposing to any practical application. Consequently, we be given to under use or maltreatment the engineering thereby costing companies billions of dollars. Instead of "Ready, Aim, Fire," people be given to, "Fire, Aim, Ready." In other words, people be given to implement the up-to-the-minute engineering before they understand precisely what it is or what concern demand it serves. To me, this is putting the cart before the horse.

Perhaps the greatest difference between the 20th century and the 21st is how engineering have changed the gait of our lives. We now anticipate to pass on with anyone on the planet in seconds, not days. We anticipate information at our fingertips. We anticipate to be up and walking shortly after a hip or knee joint replacement. Basically, we take a batch for granted. But this manic gait have also altered how we carry on concern and unrecorded our lives. To illustrate, we desire to work out jobs immediately, and have got no forbearance for long term solutions. Consequently, we be given to assail symptoms as opposing to addressing true problems, and use Band-Aids to pacify the minute as opposing to compression bandages which are actually needed. We are easily satisfied with solving little jobs as opposing to conquering major challenges. Personally, we be given to dwell for today, as opposing to planning for tomorrow. This mentality concerns me greatly.

What if person pulled the stopper on our technology? Would applied scientists still cognize how to rough products? Would we still cognize how to transport a merchandise or procedure an order? Would our fiscal minutes come up to a halt? Would concern come up to a standstill? The answer, unfortunately, is Yes. This foregrounds the open dependence we have got developed on our engineering and is cause for alarm. We are being driven by engineering as opposing to the other manner around. By unplugging our technology, we are unplugging the human-being. Think I'm wrong? Watch what haps the adjacent clip the powerfulness travels out at your business office or home.

Because of the domination of technology, people have got allowed their socialisation accomplishments to slip. Small things, such as as common courtesy, appearance, and our ability to web with others, have got all deteriorated in the workplace. We may be effectual in communicating electronically, but we are becoming complete failures in communicating socially. Throughout the book I advert how people enactment on perceptions, right or wrong. These percepts are based in big portion on our ability to communicate, such as as through the messages we convey verbally or written, our appearance, our organic structure language, and how we handle others. If we cannot pass on effectively in this capacity, no amount of engineering will be able to change the percepts of our coworkers, our managers, our customers, our vendors, or our friends and family.

To this end, I have got introduced a new Bryce's Law:
"As the usage of engineering increases, societal accomplishments decreases."
